Our Mission
Our mission is to advocate for animals in need, including those at risk of euthanasia at area shelters, by providing compassionate care, promoting adoption and supporting responsible pet ownership. We are committed to educating the public on responsible pet care, as well as promoting the importance of spay/neuter for companion animals. Our efforts also include providing foster homes and facilitating the placement of animals in loving, permanent homes.

How We Do What We Do
To achieve this mission, Whiskers and Tails implements several key strategies:
- Foster Programs: By placing unwanted and shelter dogs and cats in foster homes, we are allowed time to help find the right home for the pet and the pet parent.
- Adoption Programs: Whiskers and Tails works with local shelters, owners and fosters to find loving homes for these dogs and cats, ensuring they lead happy and healthy lives.
- Community Education and Outreach: Through workshops, animal education, and community events, Whiskers and Tails helps educate the public on responsible pet ownership, including vaccinating and the importance of spay and neuter.
- Volunteer Outreach: Volunteers are crucial to the mission of Whiskers and Tails. We have numerous volunteer opportunities, including sanctuary help, community and adoption events, grant writing, and more. We are happy to accommodate individual volunteers, small groups and large groups.
- Partnerships and Community: Building relationships with local animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and community organizations enhances the reach and effectiveness of their programs. These partnerships are crucial for resource-sharing and community support.
