Our Mission
Our mission is to save lives by addressing the root cause of animal homelessness through spay/neuter, while providing rescue, foster care, adoption services, and community education. We are dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation, preventing unnecessary euthanasia, promoting responsible pet ownership, and ensuring that animals in need receive compassionate care and the opportunity to find loving, permanent homes.
Our Strategy
What We Do
To achieve this mission, Whiskers and Tails implements several key strategies:
- Spay/Neuter Clinic. We provide accessible, low-cost spay and neuter services to reduce pet overpopulation and improve the health and well-being of animals in our community. By preventing unwanted litters, we help decrease shelter intake and give more pets a chance at loving homes.
- Foster Programs: By placing unwanted and shelter dogs and cats in foster homes, we are allowed time to help find the right home for the pet and the pet parent.
- Adoption Programs: Whiskers and Tails works with local shelters, owners and fosters to find loving homes for these dogs and cats, ensuring they lead happy and healthy lives.
- Community Education and Outreach: Through workshops, animal education, and community events, Whiskers and Tails helps educate the public on responsible pet ownership, including vaccinating and the importance of spay and neuter.
- Volunteer Outreach: Volunteers are crucial to the mission of Whiskers and Tails. We have numerous volunteer opportunities, including sanctuary help, community and adoption events, grant writing, and more. We are happy to accommodate individual volunteers, small groups and large groups.
- Partnerships and Community: Building relationships with local animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and community organizations enhances the reach and effectiveness of their programs. These partnerships are crucial for resource-sharing and community support.
