Jake’s love for animals was evident as a young child, when he spent lots of time with his families dogs and cats. He could often be found napping with his best bud, a yellow lab named Joey, or trying to walk his cat, Sully, on a harness. He spent many years in veterinary clinics and animal shelters, helping as much as he could with cleaning, feeding, and, mostly, loving on the animals.

After school, Jake got his apprenticeship in plumbing and has a true love of working with his hands in building and constructing, as well as fixing things. Jake has helped build many of the extras you see at the shelter, and he continues to improve the property.
