Founder and Executive Director

Beth Meeks

Beth was born a Georgia Peach but considers herself a true Texan after spending more than half her life in West Texas. At the age of 4, Beth told her graduating kindergarten class she wanted to be a “pet doctor”, and at 14 she got her first job a vet clinic.

Transitioning from the veterinary world into the non-profit animal welfare world was the instant that she knew her true calling. Having worked at a few other animal organizations, Beth felt it was finally time to start her dream: Whiskers and Tails.

Beth is blissfully wedded to Justin, the love of her life, and is a mom of two daughters and one son. She is also the fur-mom of three dogs, two cats, and grand-fur- mom of two dogs. Beth is a travel enthusiast, a lover of adventure, and she is obsessed with college football and true crime documentaries, although nothing compares to her love of helping homeless pets find their furever families.

Beth also serves as the chairperson for the Animal Services Advisory Commission for Midland, where she hopes to help create positive
changes and hope for the animals in West Texas.
